AXA contact details: make changes, cancel & renew your policy

Great news! You do not need to contact AXA to manage your insurance policy. Making everything really easy, you can make any changes to your policy - such as change your name or even your payment details - through your online account. This allows you to manage your policy whatever time of the day suits you, but bear in mind that any changes can take up to 48 hours to appear on your account.

Adding to the convenience, you can also cancel and renew your policy through your account. Unless you have any questions, there is no need to get in touch with AXA. Simply log in to your MyAXA account and manage everything to do with your policy.

If you would prefer to speak to someone about your account, AXA encourages you to give its customer service team a call on one of the following numbers listed below. AXA offers quite a few different types of car insurance (guide to types of car insurance coming soon) and (unfortunately) the contact details for each one are different.

Manage your finances and payments

As mentioned above, if you wish to change the payment details listed on your policy, such as your direct debit card, you can do so on your MyAXA account. If you do not wish to change the details through your account, you have the option of submitting an online email form or phoning AXA directly. First let’s take a look at the email form.

The form itself is the same no matter what insurance policy you have, but you will have to select the correct general policy in the product drop down menu. The options are Motor insurance, Travel insurance, Home insurance and Business Insurance (if you have landlord insurance, choose the business insurance option).

Fill in all the required details and hit the Send email button. This form is principally for asking payment related questions, e.g. how do I change my debit card details?, or how do I make a payment? Do not include any confidential information, such as your card details, in the form.

The other way to manage your payments and payment details is by contacting AXA directly over the phone. If you wish to make a payment, phoning AXA is the best way to complete the process. Find the correct number for your policy in the table below.

AXA car insurance contact number

Axa offers a range of car insurance policies (guide to type of car insurance coming soon), but luckily for you, the contact details to make a claim for all but two of these policies are the same. AXA van insurance and Breakdown cover have their own phone numbers. We have listed these numbers below, but let’s look first at the claims contact details for most types of car insurance.

Make a car insurance claim

Let’s start with one of the most important reasons you might want to contact AXA car insurance (full page coming soon), you’ve had an accident and want to make a claim on your policy. First things first, if you have AXA Breakdown cover and have been involved in a car accident or your car has broken down, contact AXA’s breakdown team (see contact details below).

Breakdown cover will not automatically be included in your AXA car insurance policy. If you want AXA to pick you and your car up from the side of the road when you break down, you must take out breakdown cover separately. It can be included in your car insurance policy as an optional extra.

If you do not have AXA breakdown cover, you can ring one of the claims numbers listed below at any time of the day or night only in the case of an emergency (e.g. you’re left stranded on the side of the M4). AXA will provide emergency assistance to get your car if it has been left undrivable.

If your car is still drivable, you will need to get the car home yourself and claim on your insurance during AXA’s operating hours. These hours are:

To claim on your AXA car insurance (and for emergency assistance if you don’t have breakdown cover), call one of the following numbers:

The above numbers apply to all types of car insurance claims, not just if you’ve had an accident (e.g. you’ve lost car keys or your car has been stolen), but are not the right numbers to ring if you have a chipped windscreen.

If you’ve chipped or cracked your windscreen, you simply need to book an appointment to have it repaired or replaced by Autoglass. You can do this by booking an Autoglass appointment online or calling 0330 024 1306 (operating 24 hours a day 7 days a week, operator charges apply if you ring from outside the UK).

Manage your no claims discount

To contact AXA regarding your no claims discount, you can send an email, letter, fax or get in touch by phone:

Breakdown assistance

a broken down car

If you have AXA breakdown cover and need roadside assistance, here are the numbers to ring:

Breakdowns and accidents can happen any time of the day or night so both phone lines operate 24 hours a day, 7 days of the week. When you ring, try to give AXA as many details as possible so they can get assistance to your quickly. These details should include your: full name; home postcode; breakdown cover policy number; vehicle registration, make, model and colour; current location; and the problem with your car.

AXA contact details for van insurance

Van insurance is the only AXA car insurance policy that has its own contact numbers. Let’s break them down:

AXA home insurance contact number

The contact details for AXA home insurance, buildings insurance, contents insurance and tenants insurance are the same. AXA classes landlord insurance as a type of business insurance and has separate contact details for this type of policy.

Make a home insurance claim

You can make a few claims related to your home insurance policy online through your AXA online account. If you would like to claim for buildings insurance, contents insurance, personal possessions, accidental damage, bicycle cover or student cover, you can with just a few simple clicks in your account.

Confused about what is and isn’t usually covered in a home insurance policy? Read Selectra’s guide to home insurance coverage to find out more.

If claiming online isn’t for you and you would prefer to talk to an AXA claims agent, give them a call on the following number:

The claims line operates Monday to Friday from 8am to 8pm, Saturday from 9am to 5pm and bank holidays 9am to 4pm, but you can still ring outside of these hours. If you really need to ring at 9pm on a Monday, for example, you will be put through to the AXA out-of-hours claims team who will take all your details. A claims agent will then get back to you during the main operating hours.

Home assistance contact

If you have chosen to include home assistance in your AXA home insurance policy, it means a qualified contractor will come and fix a blocked drain, burst pipe or broken boiler as soon as possible. You don’t have to find a local plumber and, better yet, you aren’t left trying to fix it yourself (phew!).

To get assistance, you need to let AXA know about your problem. You can either report the issue online through your AXA online account, or you can ring the 24/7 home assistance helpline on 0330 024 1278. AXA will then send someone to sort everything out.

Landlord insurance contact

If you have landlord insurance with AXA, the contact details to make a claim on your policy are different to all the other types of home insurance. If you need to claim on your landlord insurance:

Remember that boiler cover won’t be automatically included in your AXA landlord insurance policy. You can choose to add it on with AXA who search for other landlord boiler cover options.

AXA travel insurance contact number

No matter what type of AXA travel insurance (full page coming soon) you have, the contact process and number is the same. The number to ring in a medical emergency is also the same no matter what country you are in.

Make a travel insurance claim

If you need to make a travel insurance claim with AXA, you must get in touch within 31 days of your holiday. If you do not, it will affect your ability to make a successful claim.

To make a claim, you can ring 0330 024 1308. This claims line is only open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm. If you cannot find the time to contact AXA during these hours, you can submit your claim online via your AXA online account.

If you have arranged your travel insurance through your bank, you will need to contact them to find out how to submit your claim. However, even in this case, it is still very important that you get in touch with the AXA claims team within 31 days on the number mentioned above.

Emergency medical assistance

One of the main reasons people take out travel insurance is to make sure they are covered if they need medical assistance while abroad. AXA travel insurance includes access to a 24/7 helpline that you can ring if you have any medical problems while on holiday, including emergencies. Before going into hospital or having any medical treatment, we advise that you ring this helpline so AXA are aware of the situation and can advise you on what to do.

The AXA emergency medical assistance helpline is: +44 1737 815 626 (cost of the call will vary depending on your phone provider’s charges)

Before you set off on your trip, save the AXA emergency medical assistance number in your mobile phone. This will make sure you can quickly contact AXA if you every need to.
